"I have learned that what I have not drawn I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realise how extraordinary it is, sheer miracle."

X-ray accessories

Part of my 3rd year collection project, was to incorporate an accessory component.

Maintaining my focus on the internal structures of the human body, I was inspired by the textures derived through Xray imaging.

I found the Xray of the human skull to be most intriguing, capturing various patterns and layers of bone.

Here is a record of images that inspired my work, followed by my final pieces. Those who were at the Collective Threads Fashion Show would have noticed these pieces on the runway.

Images from the Imaging Atlas of Human Anatomy.

I created this stencil by scanning a tucked chiffon that had been stitched at various positions.

Easton Pearson summer work experience

It's been confirmed! I will be doing work experience with Brisbane's Easton Pearson. I am so excited I can barely focus on Internally Bound 2010.

I will be working in production: steaming garments, garment check, unpacking and delivering garments, general quality check of garments, hand sewing etc.

It seems that Easton Pearson have taken on a tribal influence in their 2010 Cruise Collection. With bright and bold textile work, along side intricate Jewellery and defined garment structure, Easton Pearson has created a striking statement about their aesthetic.
